Although Atlas Branding (天圖) has only been around for a short time, many people have already asked about the origin of our name. So, in today’s “Atlas Perspectives,” let’s talk about how “Atlas 天圖” came to be!

When we founded the company over a year ago, we needed a name that fit our positioning as a service provider. We wanted to offer clients the fastest, most precise, and most comprehensive branding and marketing strategy planning services.

At that point, we thought of the English word “Atlas.”

In addition to referring to Atlas, the Titan from Greek mythology who holds up the sky with his tremendous strength, “atlas” also means a collection of maps or charts. Such an atlas is rich in knowledge and information, guiding people in their journeys and helping them prepare for geographic or climate changes.

How should we translate “Atlas”?

We took the “天” (sky) from “擎天神” (the Titan who holds up the sky) and “圖” (map) from the concept of a map collection. One symbolizes the infinite outward expanse of the sky, while the other represents a resource that gathers and organizes countless pieces of information. These two metaphors—an endlessly extending sky and an all-encompassing map—perfectly capture the service we aim to provide: the best possible brand-building support for our clients.

And so, “天圖” was born!

『Atlas 天圖』名字的由來

雖然天圖公司成立不久，但已經有很多人問到我們名字的由來。
因此今天的「天圖觀點」就讓我們來談談「Atlas 天圖」的由來吧！
在一年多前成立公司時，我們需要一個適合我們的名稱，
因此我們就由我們的服務定位來發想：
「我們想要幫客戶做到最快速、最精準的全方位品牌及行銷策略規劃服務。」

此時我們想到了「Atlas」這個英文字，
「Atlas」的意思除了是希臘神話故事中的「擎天神」，
是使用自己雙肩的臂力撐起藍天的強大泰坦之外，
另一個意思就是富含知識及訊息的「地圖集」或「輿圖」，
是能夠指引人們行進方向及為地理、氣候變化預作準備的圖集。

那麼「Atlas」該如何翻譯呢？

我們想到「擎天神」的「天」，也想到了「地圖集」的「圖」，
一個是往外無限延伸的藍天，一個是往內搜集網羅無數資訊的地圖，
而這兩個比喻，正是我們想要為客戶提供的最佳品牌服務的結合，
因此「天圖」就這麼誕生了！
