Innovative B2B Branding Strategies in a High-Inflation Era

In mid-2024, Gina, branding consultant from Atlas Branding, was invited to deliver a distinctive keynote speech at the Fo Guang Shan Nantai Temple’s Penghu Gengyun Subchapter. The lecture, titled “Exploring New Branding Avenues for B2B Businesses Amid High Inflation,” aimed to introduce innovative service approaches to expand the reach of the subchapter. Traditionally, religious organizations have focused on leisure and lifestyle activities for their mostly retired and elderly congregation. However, this event sought to engage local entrepreneurs and business professionals, guiding them to reassess their brand positioning and development strategies in a world facing post-pandemic turbulence and high inflation, while also discovering how the principles of Buddhism can positively influence their commercial decision-making.
During her presentation, Gina focused on the global economic and political shifts in the aftermath of the pandemic and their impact on B2B manufacturing SMEs under high inflationary pressure. She conducted an in-depth analysis of current product R&D and sales market conditions, highlighting potential areas for improvement in brand strategy, distribution channels, customer experience, and digital marketing. She also emphasized that embracing Buddhism is not at odds with business success. On the contrary, the “harmony, inclusiveness, and wisdom” at the heart of Buddhist philosophy can help entrepreneurs maintain clear thinking and steady judgment when facing market challenges.
This lecture marked the first step of the Penghu Gengyun Subchapter’s new strategy to engage its self-employed congregation members through corporate seminars. Through this event, local business leaders gained valuable branding insights in a changing global landscape, demonstrating how the Fo Guang Shan Nantai Temple embraces innovative methods to reach different demographics. Looking ahead, ongoing efforts may attract a more diverse range of social and industry backgrounds, further disseminating the compassionate wisdom and service-oriented ethos of Buddhism to an even broader audience.
